I recently attended a four day course but I feel like it doesn't prepare you on how to build a server, create actual tags, or how to communicate with real PLC's on a real network even though it's meant for newbies. In fact, the course didn't even cover how to install everything from scratch which was surprising (although that part wasn't hard). I'm usually very quick to pick up on anything computer related, but this has been fairly tough to learn on my own.
There's some ok stuff on YouTube, but still leaves a lot to be desired. Looking for recommendations on good reading material, videos, courses, etc. Who is you support contract with? Because knowing this is most,if not all of your battle. Web tutorials and training are great but having the techsupport team of your rep on speed dial is most important.
